The Hazards of Love Miniseries - The Prettiest Whistles (1/14)

In order to kick off the blog, I'm starting a miniseries based off my favorite album, The Hazards of Love. I'll post a look once a day, one based off each non-instrumental track on the album, complete with a list of items used, per usual, and an explanation of why the outfit works with the album. I will also include a video of the song so that you can listen. The album is reminiscent of the Scottish tale, The Drowned Lovers. The Decemberists base many of their musical endeavors on folktales, so it would make sense if the album were, indeed, based off that story. (Warning - the link takes you to the poem as it was written, apostrophes and all. You may find it extremely hard to gather the whole thing, but you can see the resemblance at a glance.)

Without further ado, here is my first look - The Prettiest Whistles

hot buys // hot buys leopard tank
killah // mc ginley jacket
denim and supply // beaded field jacket
basics // white jeans
ugg australia // ugg baileybutton
voile // pastel belt

my true love went riding out
in white and green and gray

This look is likely the most literal of the series. With this, I sought to recreate Margret the day she went riding. This outfit has the key colors, white green and grey, and many clothes worn near the edge of the forset, where we lay our scene, would look similar to these - simple, warm, and in colors that blend in to the environment.
